Caiviar (Rough homophone of "CAPI IVR") is a system for controlling a callcenter using a
couple of ISDN Capi cards. (It also contains a driver hack for getting more than one
card working on a system even if not supported by the hardware manufacturer).
Besides supporting all the standard applications for ISDN (answering machine, fax
machine (both ways), call connecting, dialout, explicit call transfer, etc.), it
also has integrated support for a number of text-to-speech libraries, for easy
set-up of complex telephony applications.
This system has been used so far in a telephone shop system by a company in
Munich and for doing on-site automated traffic analysis by a company in Berlin.
